Chapter III — Burnt Paper & Hearth

Burnt paper and smoke
A white slip of paper quietly burning away in the hearth, transforming into ash. The words once written there, and the letters that went unsent, rise to the ceiling with the smoky embers, fading into the far reaches of memory. The dry ink and faint smoky accord emitted by the dying fire evoke a nostalgic, slightly wistful trace in our hearts. Words turn to ash, losing their form, yet the scent remains invisible, holding the writer's warmth and the raw emotion of that moment in the air. The beauty of letting go and bringing something to a close flickers in the dim light of the embers. As we gaze at this final, vanishing state, we silently accept the clear presence of the invisible remaining after the physical collapses, and the profound, peaceful afterglow brought by its lingering scent.
